Im a bad blogger

I am so bad about updating things! I'm working on cutting down the number of online things I'm on, including two or three journal sites that I've been on for one or two people who update on all of them.
The house is coming along. While Brandon was here we got the painting done, he put in the floors, and fixed some of the fixings that needed to be done. They are working on getting the things done for getting the 880 from hud and getting the baseboards down.
I'm looking into selling Avon to bring in some money, because I have not had any luck finding somewhere that will hire someone who can only work Friday-Sunday. School & free baby-sitters mean limited hours and I'm not going to work to just pay for daycare when I can take care of my own daughter. David is working part time on a contract that Jeremy's dad got cleaning up after there lawn service. One contract is 6 days a week and the other 3 days. Amy is working on helping him get in at the place she works fixing the photo machines so if both work out things should work out, at least if the job Amy has offers insurance. David & Azzie could get on any insurance in a heart beat so that is whats important but I cant, and with my luck if I go with out insurance I'll get an upper respiratory infection that will just get worse. Yay only having one lung making a person uninsurable.
I'm taking math this semester which isn't going to be fun but I have to do it sometime. I really need to find a regular baby sitter for Azzie Tuesday mornings. I'm leaning tword Brittney because we can pay eachother back and forth babysitting eachother kiddos. She is the primary care giver for her mom so I watch her daughter during her doctors visits & e.r trips because Alyssa is special needs and I know how to treat her g-tube if it gets pulled out and all that. My mom sudjested my grandma but she is on at least 10 medications & is in the early stages of altimers so she would have to watch her at my moms to make sure grandma didn't forget something. So mom would be baby-sitting the both of them during her work day. I lucked out with having Dennis able to watch her Thursday mornings. I'm not looking forward to maybe having to do night classes in Arlington because the city gets scary at night.

Lets see ... the semester is over, thank goodness. Two A's and one B shocking is that one of the A's was in my global cultures class which was the most stressful. I'm excited because now I get to go to school for free because we make under a certain amount, and because I'm not taking a full load at UTA the government allotment covers it all. So mom and I only have to pay for books and my tcc class, which is 1/9 the cost of a uta class.
David lost his job at best buy and has been interviewing and had an interview for one of the mid-cities police departments last week. Hes waiting to hear about the second round of interviews and all of the people he had put as references told us they had called them. We've been worried about the house stuff but because Dennis co-signed the house is still going through and we will be closing at the end of this week/beginning of next. Our first month of mortgage is included with our down payment so that gives us time to get stuff together. Plus we have plenty of small work to do to the house before we move in so our utility's and such won't be that much anyway for the first month or two. Most of which we can do ourselves, with the guys being so handy & my cousin Branden coming down who builds houses with his dad for a living. The biggest thing was the carpet & stove but my parents said because they won't have a student loan payment for me they are more than willing to take on helping with one or the other.
We went to California for Davids cousins Tianna's graduation. She got a BMW for her graduation gift from her parents! Much better than my hami-down laptop I must say, but she deserved it. We had fun, Azzie got to go to the beach, she didn't like the sand or the water. It was to cold and big for her so she was holding on to her grandpa. Aunt Rolanda was so happy she got kisses and hugs from her as we left. Azzie had her first plane ride and she did outstanding. David was with us on the way there and we were on our own on the way back. Which was scary because it was the second time I had ever flown by myself, the first I was young enough to have the flight attendants navigate me everywhere. So I was a bit scared because I am very challenged at navigating in the first place. Yet we did great and I didn't even have to ask for help other than having Uncle Donnie carry in Azzie's car seat for me to check. Dennis Tori and Becky had taken our suit case in the truck for us because they had driven. Sadly the red truck is no more, they had an accident on the way back and it was totaled. They had decided to drive straight through the night and Dennis started nodding off and rolled the truck. Thank goodness everyone came out with nothing more than bumbs, cuts and bruises.

Long time no blog

Sorry I've been bad about posting. School has been stressful ... first it was midterms, with midterm essays. Then more essays, tests popping up I didn't remember were coming up, working on my final paper for Populations on the American Deaf population so I could get my rough draft in.
Plus family has been in town. We took Azzie to the aquarium and the Zoo while Uncle Curt was here. We picked the wrong days to go to each, it was a great day outside when we went to the indoor aquarium and it rained the day we went to the outside zoo. So Azzie didn't get to see the big kitties, other than the Cheetahs. Which made both of us sad, because she likes the jaguar they have at the aquarium. She did get to see all of the monkeys, which was great.
Azzie has been doing wonderful. She loves kindermusik, I'm looking into library activitys they have for the toddlers. Particularly for summer comming up. I'm thinking of signing back up for the under two swim classes for summer, but I'm not sure yet.
House looking has been intresting, none of our bids had gone through as picked for the hud homes. Then we were going to go through with this one house, that I wasn't 100% happy with because it had a converted living room from the gradge, and it was close to the service road. Plus the people next door was running some buisness out of his back yard. Yet as we were talking to the people that owned it, the bid that beat us for the last hud we bid on (By $550!) fell through because their paper work fell through. Its bigger, has a gradge, a decent shed in the back and about the same price per month as the one we were looking at! It's been crazy trying to get the paper work taken care of.
Well, I need to head to class stuff. :-)

Yay Update

Not a lot has been going on. Azzie and I surprised Becky at school yesterday during her lunch. She's been having an on and off issue with waking up around 330 in the morning and not wanting to go back to bed in her play pin. (I can't wait for them to send us those brackets for her crib, because she will sleep so much better.) She has been loving her kindermusik class which is great. We talked to her teacher about summer if she should go ahead and do the 0-18 month summer class or the 18-3 year old summer that she will be joining anyway in the fall, and will be able to take next summer. The teacher said it was up to me, and there is only 5 classes in a session so its really up to getting all the books if we want them.
One of my really good friends is having major issues with some of her online friends where shes caught in the middle of a couple that broke up at least 6 months ago and they are still arguing about things that happened because of the break up, or things that caused the break up. Then her ex boyfriend is wanting her to take her back after them having a pretty bad breakup over a year and a half ago, and him & his last girlfriend harrasing her on and off during that year and a half. I love my friend to death but I know shes sick of it and I'm getting even sicker about hearing about how bad its affecting her when some of the things that she is dealing with for her friends isn't really her issue and she needs to get her self out of it before she starts doing something stupid.I finialy got onto her about it yesterday and she got on to Justin, her ex last night and also talked to her friend Mary. So I hope she starts unloading her plate because she just has been stressing her self out way to much.
Well class has started ... I think its funny that last class I saw someone in Anth playing WOW in class. :-)

The crazy week so far

Few, this week has gone by quickly.
Monday we had a test in Family & marriage, and just talked mostly in Global Cultures. We were supposed to have a quiz in Populations but our teacher was out again. She gave us all 100% for our quiz though! Plus I got to go home early to Azzie again so double plus. Yesterday though my teacher let us know some bad news of why she hasn't been feeling well. She is going to have surgery that she can't put off until the end of the semester. (Her first surgery ever, even with 3 kids so she is a little worried.) She's going to have it the Friday before spring break so if she bounces back fast she'll be back in time for the week after spring break but she is working with the Sociology head to get guest lectures for those two days if she has to be out just in case. She is a great teacher, and a sweet lady so please keep her in your thoughts! She started class kind of down but she always gets excited with our class because we always discuss things in class and bring up new ideas while her other classes are always very quiet. So she said we always brighten her mood. :-)
The T.A. who works with my Global Cultures class showed the film that was supposed to be for next week, yesterday because our regular teacher had something come up last minuet. Our T.A. worried me because she sounds like she, yes the TA is grading our papers, is grading down on a lot of peoples essay because they have "writing problems" even though everyones papers, that she has graded, is correct in their content. *rolls eyes* I hope she didn't mean mine because I even had my mom look over my grammar and such for me. I just wish I had my grade already though ... I guess I've been spoiled with teachers who got grades back the next day or two class periods after the quiz/test/due date. Which none of my teachers have done this semester.
Today Azzie and I had a very good day. We went to make up our Kindermusik class from a few weeks ago when it was canceled for bad weather. Then we went to lunch on a mommy daughter date, and went to the store to pick up some short sleeve shirts because most of the clothes we have in her size are long sleeve, and its starting to warm up. We went to visit her Daddy at work and got to see some of his friends from work. Now she is napping while I figure out some stuff with our bank. There is a pending transaction that is a double of a transaction that has already processed, for my moms cigarettes that cost $62 that she will pay me back for, but they have already accounted the pending in our available balance so it could cause issues if we needed to use our card in an emergency before mom can pay us back.

Turned into a good day

So update on the weather ... Nothing serious hit in our area even though there was about 10 mins there that we were concerned because my sister called when our power went out saying in grapevine the sirens were going off, the airport was on lock down and the police were advising everyone to seek shelter. Our power came on right when we got off the phone with her and we heard that some roof damage and fence damage was happening on the border of Grapevine and Colleyville but after a few minuets of worry the storm made its way east and the worry was vanquished. I had gotten a hold of a couple friends who live in the trailer park in grapevine and they had been given the go ahead to head home. Azzie had a hard night though so she, Tonks the cat, and I slept in the bed. David was playing video games until 1:30 and thats when I had to resort to the most awkward ways of sleeping. I had the cat at my feet, David taking up his side of the bed and Azzie taking up most of mine as well as my pillow. So I was hanging off the bed, with my arm under Azzie tossing feeling and my legs hugging my bum most of the night.

Anyway today was a good day. Azzie had Kindermusik, I got subway for lunch. I had to park really far out in the parking lot so I had a 15 min walk to get to class, but when I got to check my email my Populations teacher had sent us an email saying there wasn't going to be class due to an illness. So no hour and a half waiting after my Anthropology class! Plus I got out about 20-30 mins early from Anth because we had a quiz, and a team quiz. So I was home by 4:15! I got all but one or two of my readings done for next week, which I think are the ones for Weds, so all I have left for Monday is to study for a quiz in Populations and a test in marriage & Family!

I wonder

Why everyone thinks Benjamen Button is such a good movie? Really, please someone explain this to me because my mom, aunt Linda, and most of the people I've over heard talk about it don't get understand why its being noted as such a big deal movie. I really did not like that movie, interesting concept behind it but wasn't that great of a movie and it went on longer than it needed too... granted I do like really weird movies, like some of my all time favorites include Rocky Horror Picture Show and An Awfully Big Adventure, but there has been enough people that don't have my strange tastes in movies that agree with me.

Well, we have tornado warnings so I'm planning on having Azzie stay in our room, until the warning is over at 12, out of paranoia if I fall asleep and can't get to her fast enough if shes in her room. Davids up playing video games and doesn't work tomorrow so he'll be up. There was a tornado went through Oklahoma City and according to the weather guy the bulk of that storm should be hitting our area around 10 pm even though the sounds of the storm are already making their music. It's going to be a stormy night no matter what it decides to do so I don't quite know how well she's going to sleep. Some nights during bad storms she doesn't make a peep, others shes up every 30 mins until she gets put in our room where she knows she's safe.

Weekends end

So this weekend was surprisingly calm. Friday I took David out for Sushi, we walked around Blockbuster but didn't find anything we wanted to rent and most of the movies that we wanted to see at the dollar movie are kid movies so they were going to be packed. So we stopped and picked up some baskin Robins and headed home. Jeremy stopped by to watch the final disk of Dexter before I sent it off. I finished season 3 on the video on demand so I have to wait for next season for some more, even though I had to have the volume up all the way to be able to hear it. Dad says they've been having that problem with some of the on demand, so I don't need to get my hearing tested. (Not that I would ... I would just sign!) Anyway ...
Saturday Jeremy and David went to the health store to look at detox stuff. Next paycheck we are going to start on a detox to hopefuly help me with my weight issues because when I diet I maybe lose 10 pounds and gain 20 ... and thats with the healthy diets like weight watchers so we are going to try this last thing before I go to the doctor about it. Then we went to Macaroni Grill after we got Azzie, and played wii bowling and golf with David's dad. Then I drove Jeremy back to his car and Azzie and I spent the night at home. I was planning on going to Randy and Lynda's house for the party they were having but by the time I had a break from Azzie, to be able to get dressed to go it was already 9 or 10 pm and I didn't feel like heading over that late even though I know the parties go on until late because there is little stopping a group of drummers, dancers and ren-faire folks from sitting back and enjoying good friends, food and drink.
Today has been really low key. I have all but my populations reading done for my homework this week. Which I think I'm planning on saving for my hour and a half break because I already updated my notes in my laptop, and I'm going to just use my laptop in my Anthropology class because there has been people using them even though I thought she said not too. Depends on how late David gets home and how long Azzie naps.

Update

This week has been busy with company, trying to get together with people and homework.
So we ended up not having school that day of the last post. So this week was a bit strange ... actually having class both days! :-) I ended up dropping the stats class, it was stressing me out to much which isn't good for Azzie. This semester looks a little brighter, but I know I'm going to dread the three semesters that I will have math. *ick*
Tomorrow, David and I are going to have a "date" dinner, probably sushi because anytime we end up eating out with family recently its been restaurants that I really enjoy but David hasn't gotten his sushi fix in a while.
I'm finally caught up on my DVD shows, so I can watch the stuff on the free showtime veiws and be caught up completely. (At least on Dexter ... I still have to wait for the next season of The Riches on DVD.) I'm thinking of bailing on Lost until the end of the season ... which is really sad because I am a big Naveen Andrews fan (as well as Henry Ian Cusick because of Lost) but this season isn't as good as it has been in the past.
Azzie is a big time walker, she likes to walk into every room just for the sake of walking. She had kindermusic Wed and she had fun. We are going to help a lady pay for her classes because if she pays for all of it she won't be able to afford her bills, shes a single mom with a very sweet little girl who was a premi like Azzie but hasn't had Azzies growth catch up yet. We are very happy she allowed us to help her, because I could tell she wanted to sign her daughter up for something to be around other children but money was the issue and I know how that feels.
Azzie and I got to see Pam and Nicole on Tuesday, which was fun. We went to the mall and to Walmart. I was surprised that the big record store in the mall was shut down, along with the memorabilia store. Azzie did good until the end of our trip when she was wanting to walk around at walmart without holding mommy's hand. So she got upset that she had to be carried or be in the cart the rest of the time there. David went to help get Tori's new washer and dryer today, so Azzie and I hung out with her Grandpa Dennis this morning before we had to take David to work. Then we went to see Jeff, Star and Jewel. We got there before Star was home so she was so excited to come home to a baby in the house, she had been having a hard day, plus she has opening night of the play shes acting in tomorrow night. Azzie has warmed up a lot more to Jeff, she even went to get the mail with him! Jewel gave us her Christmas gift, which was a "hand drawn" computer graphic of Azzie and I from the Wedding.
Well, I need to get ready to head out to pick up David.

Texas schools + cold weather = stupidity

So, yesterday we had cold rain, and it was pretty cold all day, but the weather didn't start getting icky until night time. So understandably the public schools, high schools and such, were still open for regular hours. They canceled most after school stuff or maybe let out an half an hour to 45 mins early to help get people home before dark. So I figured if the high schools were open, the community college would be open so I could return the book from the class I dropped. I got up there and the were deserted, and all the doors were locked. School was canceled for the day, to my annoyance but I figured it was just TCC and my luck that brought it due to my not checking for it on the internet. Then I hear from a couple of my friends the UNT, the University in Denton, and my University UTA are also shut down. Of course I think this is really weird, because to me the schools with smaller or younger kids should shut down before university's during bad weather well before the University's should. That is how works in my logic because its more important to not have a crash getting a 6 year old to school because the government own school decided to not shut down vs college students deciding to brave the weather to get to class when they don't know the first thing about driving in iffy weather.
So because of the weather last night the roads froze over, my car is frozen and I have to go to school because all of my classes are after noon. The school districts are closed, and Azzies kindermusic teacher canceled classes because she cancels for weather if the school districts do. Yet, the University are opening at Noon. (I go to school 1pm-8:20pm MW) *sigh* I'm trying to convince my dad or David to take me and pick me up from school today. I can drive on icy roads well if I am driving during the day but because of my eyesight and some not so well lit roads on my way home tonight I'm kind of Iffy about driving home from school ... not getting to school. I'm hoping they wize up and cancel classes after lets say 5pm so I don't have to go to my last two classes of the day but that goes against my luck. Particularity when one of those classes is Social Stats, but I'm thinking of dropping that class anyway.
It doesn't help dad gets to stay home from work today.
The weather and the schools being weird isn't helping my stress. I've been so over loaded most everyone has told be to go ahead and drop a class. Its taking me to long to do my homework, and there fore taking away to much time away from Azzie, and stressing me out which isn't good for her. Its most likely going to be my stats class because I'm so bad at math ... even though this is my teachers last semester of teaching this class and she is very student friendly ... and I have two friends in that class that I could study with ... mom wants me to drop the anthropology class even though most of that homework is reading which I can do during Azzies naps, and David is more willing to watch Azzie so I can write the two page at home essay quizzes, rather than coming home after work everyday to help me with math homework.
First I have to find out what the rules are with financal aid and the scholarships I recived before I can even drop. Because if my mom and I have to come up with the money for the class right away after I drop, it maybe out of the question. Mostly because mom has homeowners tax hitting her right now, making her broke.

Well, I have to figure out lunch.

Friday!

So Azzie's bed has had a recall due to faulty brackets, so it has been a super mess while we wait for the recall folks to sen in the good brackets. Her play pin takes up most of the free space in her room, so there isn't much wiggle room to change her diaper, or the diaper genie, or get clothes from her dresser. Also Azzie has a new hobby of opening drawers and pulling everything in the drawer out! She has been feeling better today, playing dancing and all that stuff. She has just is taking her first nap of the day so we are going to run late to Grapevine, but both of us need to rest after her long day of wearing mommy out with out our nap break.

So I'm hoping for a chance to see Underworld tonight when we have someone watching Azzie. The few chances I've gotten to see any movies not via netflicks, they have been movies other people wanted to see like 4 Christmases and Benjamin Button. I didn't end up getting to see all of the 4 Christmases movie, because of Azzie being with us, and I don't really like Brad Pitt so I walked into the Button movie not liking it.

Well time to work on home work! The site came up this morning, so I can download my reading and such.

First Post

So here is my attempt at a new blog to help keep everyone updated.

Azzie, our little walker, is enjoying her new found skill! Sadly, on Tuesday she was running a high fever and David took her to the doctor Wednesday and we found out she has an ear infection. She is a trooper and doesn’t give us any issues giving her the antibiotics that she has been prescribed.

I started school Wednesday as well, two of my classes seem like they are going to be a breeze as long as I keep up on my reading. One of them I just don’t need to take a week at a time with the reading and such so I don’t overwhelm myself with the readings and such. Then there is Social Stats, luckily my teacher is also the Sociology & Anthropology head advisor, and she is a super cool lady. She assured us she is going to make it as Stats for dummy’s as she can and we won’t be doing any of the figuring of what card is next in the deck stuff like they do in the movie 21. Also I’m lucky, I know two people in my class so we can be study buddies and there is an ASL interpreter, and I’ve noticed I can understand math concepts better in ASL.

I’m in a little bit of a panic because I can’t log into the site for the homework in two of my classes. The help center guy said that I don’t have an account on the site, but that could just be because my teachers have not uploaded their rosters to the site, and so I can’t access the site until they do so. Also if they waited until today to upload the rosters it won’t be processed before 3am tomorrow. So, I emailed my teachers what my problem was with logging in and what the help desk told me, so hopefully things get worked out. I really hope it works out by tomorrow or Saturday, because I know I will just stress myself out even more if it’s not resolved before class on Monday.

Anyway, I'm off to finishing the disk of Dexter I'm on now Azzie is asleep, so I can get it in the mail to netflicks tomorrow.
